HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- Come celebrate fire prevention week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Hartsdale Fire District Station #1, 25 S. Central Ave.
Members of the department will take part in live demonstrations of extinguishing kitchen fires, auto extrication, CPR and more. Fire safety and prevention material (and the department's famous plastic red fire hats for the kids) also will be distributed.
"I always say that every week should be fire prevention week," Hartsdale Fire Chief Ed Rush said in a prepared statement. "But we set aside this one week every year to really focus the attention of the public on this extremely important subject."
