According to District Attorney Susan Cacace, around 3:45 p.m. on the day of the incident, Eulin allegedly grabbed the small dog by the neck and threw it into the street near Manhattan Avenue and Beech Street. The dog struck the pavement with its head and died from the injury.
When the dog’s owner attempted to confront Eulin, prosecutors say Eulin tried to assault him as well.
Eulin is now charged with:
- Aggravated cruelty to animals;
- Overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals;
- Third-degree attempted assault;
- Third-degree menacing;
- Second-degree harassment.
In a statement on the case, Cacace called Eulin's alleged actions "unconscionable."
"There is no place in society for such brutal acts of violence against our beloved pets," Cacace added.
Eulin was released on his own recognizance following arraignment. His case has been adjourned until Wednesday, April 30.
