DOVER, N.Y. -- An accident between an oil truck and car on Monday in Dover left the oil truck driver entrapped in the vehicle, according to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
The accident, which happened on Pleasant Ridge Road, near Harry Hill Lane and Blueberry Drive, around 3:50 p.m. was most likely caused by the oil truck driver traveling at an unsafe speed, Watterson said.
The oil truck rolled over on top of the car, trapping the truck driver who had to be extricated before he was flown to Westchester Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, he added.
The driver of the car also received injuries and was transported to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital with neck and back pain, Watterson said.
No oil leaked from the truck.
