DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Millerton man was charged with two counts of criminal contempt on Wednesday for violating a protection order two times on the same day.
James C. Kaiser, 34, was arrested after New York State troopers were dispatched to investigate an order of protection violation at a Town of Washington residence. The complainant reported that she had been receiving text messages from Kaiser in violation of the order of protection.
Kaiser was arraigned in the Town of Dover Justice Court and released on his own recognizance, state police said.
Hours later, state police said Kaiser violated the order of protection again by calling the woman.
He was arraigned a second time in the Town of North East Court and released under the supervision of probation.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23.
