CLINTON CORNERS, N.Y. -- A Clinton Corners man was found dead inside a burning shed Friday, Jan. 20, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers and firefighters responded to the structure fire at 2:30 p.m. at 184 Shadblow Lane. Once on scene, they found a detached shed engulfed in flames, said state police.

A resident of the home, 56-year-old Kevin A. McGarry, was found dead inside, state police added.

Police don't believe the cause of the fire to be suspicious in nature, said Melissa McMorris, spokeswoman for the New York State Police.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the state police and the Dutchess County Cause and Origin Team.

The fire was brought under control by the East Clinton Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire Department, and the Stanford Fire Department.

The cause of death remains under investigation pending an autopsy, McMorris added.
