New Bear Sighting Reported, This One In Pawling

Well, folks, another black bear sighting has been reported in the area - this time in Pawling.

A Daily Voice reader sent in a photograph of a bear he saw in Brewster. This bear was spotted off Route 22 on Monday, March 25. Could it be the same bear since Route 22 goes through Pawling, which borders Putnam?

One thing is for sure, the bears are out and they are hungry.

Officials remind residents to take care and use locking garbage cans, and to remove bird feeders, apparently, it's like crack to bears.

And, remember to keep your distance and never get too close. A mother bear could be protecting her cubs.

But, if you have a chance to snap a photo, send it to Daily Voice, we will share it.
