The Fine Grind: Better known for its chocolate and pastries than its brewed beans, Samuel’s nevertheless has something other coffee places don’t – celebrities. Actors and pals Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy) and Paul Rudd (Captain America – Civil War) bought Samuel’s after its owner died two years ago. Morgan and Rudd don’t actually run the day-to-day operations; they leave that to John Traver, who started working at Samuel’s when he was only 15.
Most Popular Brew: Customers like Samuel’s’ “Frozen Cappy” (frozen cappuccino) and chai lattes. Some say that it has the best coffee in Rhinebeck. Last month, it debuted “Toby’s Estate,” a blend made by Brooklyn Coffee Roasters.
