By the time troopers arrived, the driver who caused the crash, Genn Clark, of Wilton, had fled into a nearby wooded area, according to State Police.

He was taken to the State Police facility in Wilton, where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and a blood sample was taken to determine his drug and alcohol content.

Investigators also found a “large amount” of marijuana and marijuana products inside Clark’s car, troopers said.

He is facing the following charges:

  • Resisting arrest
  • Unlawful possession of cannabis

Clark was ultimately issued an appearance ticket to the Wilton Town Court on Tuesday, June 13, and was later released from custody.
