Golden Globe Nominee, Writer of 'The Big Short,' Set To Speak In Millerton

MILLERTON, N.Y. -- Screenwriter Charles Randolph, a nominee for both a Golden Globe Award and British Film & Television Award (BAFTA) for his screenplay adaptation (with Adam McKay) of "The Big Short," is appearing Friday, Jan. 8 at The Moviehouse.

The movie stars Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling, and is based on the the true story and bestselling book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball).

The screening starts at 6:40 p.m. with an audience Q&A with Randolph immediately after. Randolph will then be on his way to Los Angeles for the awards ceremony which airs Sunday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Randolph has written a variety of other films including "Love and Other Drugs," "The Interpreter," and "The Life of David Gale," and has worked with such filmmakers as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Milos Forman and Ridley Scott.

He has also written and filmed two HBO pilots for television: "The Wonderful Maladays," and "The Missionary."

Randolph lives in upstate New York with his wife, actress Mili Avital, and their children, Benjamin and Fanny.
