Two people were killed in a fiery crash involving a Tesla in Westchester.
The crash occurred on Tuesday morning, Dec. 3, at the intersection of Pelhamdale Avenue and Shore Road in Pelham Manor, according to village officials.
According to Pelham Manor Police Lt. Gregory Sancho, a Tesla drove through the intersection and struck a wall on the northbound lane of Shore Road before going up in flames.
Two people, whose identities have not yet been released, were killed in the crash. Speed may have been a factor, Sancho said, adding that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
First responders remain on the scene, and the intersection is expected to be closed for several hours as investigations continue.
Police are directing traffic at all approaches to the area, and motorists are advised to avoid the intersection. Access to Shore Park and the New York Athletic Club is still possible via Roosevelt Avenue, officials said.
