Lucrezia Lindia, the foreign language chairperson and an Italian teacher at the high school, wrote a course planning guide for the AP Italian language and culture course which is now being disseminated around the country.
The guide includes instructional materials, sample test questions and course information. It also provides instructors with the necessary tools to teach the recently revised course.
According to the College Board website, the AP Italian language and culture course “provides students with opportunities to demonstrate proficiency in each of the three modes of communication – interpersonal, interpretive, presentational – in the intermediate to pre-advanced range.”
Lindia is an AP reader and chair of the SAT Italian Test Development Committee’s College Board. When she isn’t broadening minds at the high school, she serves as an Italian instructor at Westchester Community College and the New Paltz Immersion Program. She is the president of the Italian Teachers’ Association and National Italian Honor Society.
