EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester's Anne Hutchinson School's 2015-16 Curriculum Olympics -- the "ELA Extravaganza," which is its second “Olympic” event, will take place on Friday, April 1, from 9 to 10 a.m. and will highlight the ELA curriculum.
The "ELA Extravaganza," will be followed by "Arts Festival," “Field Day" and “Science Olympiad."
This is an opportunity for parents to share some time with children in their classroom and learn ways to support them at home with reading and writing.
The U.S. Department of Education states, “The amount and degree of parent involvement is the most influential factor in determining students’ success in school.”
For each Curriculum Olympic event that parents and others attend, they will receive a ticket that will be tallied.
The class that has the most participation on a grade will receive a pizza party and the grade level with the most participation will receive an ice cream party sponsored by the PTA.
More information about registering will be available in an upcoming PTA Email blast and a flier in students' backpacks.
