Teacher From Berkeley Arrested After Performing 'Indecent Act' On School Property

A Central Regional Middle School teacher was charged with lewdness after he performed an undisclosed indecent act in front of a minor student, authorities said.

Joshua Eckersley, 33, of Berkeley Township, was arrested after the student reported the Jan. 12 incident to authorities, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.

Eckersley was surrendered by his attorney Thursday afternoon and released pending a future court date.

He was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
