New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa confirmed that two women were stabbed inside their New Rochelle home on Bellview Place shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17. According to an ABC 7 report, the two women were a mother and daughter., and the man lived with them, though police did not initially confirm that.

Police investigators noted that upon arrival, officers found an adult woman outside the home, and a second woman inside the residence. Both sustained multiple stab wounds.

Costa said that the man was arrested near Brookdale Avenue in New Rochelle, and a knife was recovered inside the home where the women were stabbed. The incident is believed to be domestic in nature. No formal charges have been made yet, though they are expected.

The two women were transported to an area hospital. Their condition was not immediately clear on Wednesday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation.
