Man Stole $720 In Merchandise At Macy's, Police Say

A 50-year-old alleged shoplifter was arrested after being accused of stealing $720 in merchandise at Macy’s at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Officers from the Yorktown Police Department responded to the mall shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, where there was a report of a shoplifting incident in Macy’s, with a suspect in custody.

Upon arrival, police said that the investigation determined that Yonkers resident Gordon Hepburn allegedly stole $720 in items from the department store. He was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

Hepburn was charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. Hepburn is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on April 2 to respond to the charge.
