Eastchester Police Arrest Mount Vernon Woman

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – A Mount Vernon woman was issued a summons Tuesday after she was discovered driving with a suspended car registration and driver’s license in Eastchester, police said.

Laura Etienne, 30, was driving on California Road at 2:16 p.m. when the Eastchester Police Department’s automatic license plate reader alerted officers that her vehicle had a suspended registration due to an insurance lapse.

After the officer stop the vehicle, the woman was found to be driving with a suspended license. She was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and suspended operation, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Etienne was issued a summons and was picked up on the scene by her sister after her car was impounded, police said. She is due in court on June 20 at 9 a.m.

Larceny:  On Friday, a woman returned merchandise to Ann Taylor on White Plains Road that was stolen from another Ann Taylor location, police said. The woman returned two dresses that had been taken from another store, and left in a tan Tahoe.

Burglary: A residence on Nelson Road was burglarized Friday. The burglar entered the house through a basement window and lightly ransacked the house, police said. Various pieces of jewelry and a camera were taken. Police interviewed neighbors for information with negative results. Police are still investigating the matter.

Thefts from cars: Three vehicles in a driveway at a house on Lispenard Avenue in Bronxville were burglarized Thursday night. When the owner of the vehicles woke up for work on Friday, he found his 2000 Audi, 1999 Jeep and 2004 Mitsubishi – which were unlocked – had been entered and robbed. He reported a cell phone charger, headset and two pairs of sunglasses missing.

Keyed car: A 2012 Honda CRV was scratched with a key Sunday in the basement parking garage of his apartment building on Scarsdale Road. The owner reported that he left the car parked overnight in the garage and returned to find an approximate 10-inch scratch on the driver’s side door.
