Sheriff’s deputies stopped Central Islip resident Miguelina Rodriguez, 32, at approximately 2:22 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, when she was spotted failing to signal a turn from Thorne Street onto North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue.

Deputies said that Rodriguez “demonstrated clues while performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests,” which indicated she was under the influence. Further investigation found she was in possession of cocaine and concentrated cannabis.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement Bureau in Yaphank, where a breathalyzer found she had a .11 percent blood alcohol content, and she was arrested.

Rodriguez was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
