College Student Found Dead Attended Chapel School In Bronxville

A 22-year-old from Fairfield County who was found dead in his car at Southern Connecticut State University was an American history major and basketball player who attended elementary school in Westchester.

Brookfield resident Sean Gallo was found unresponsive in his vehicle that was parked in the West Campus Parking Garage at approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, school officials said.

Gallo, born in Hong Kong, was a graduate of Brookfield High School, Class of 2015 and received his associate degree from Naugatuck Valley Community College.  He was studying history at SCSU at the time of his death.

Before moving to Brookfield, Gallo attended The Chapel School in Bronxville, where he played basketball. Once at Brookfield, he enjoyed the school chorus and band.  

Gallo loved all animals including the family pets - Lennie, Sassy and Benji, and was especially fond of penguins. He loved to travel with his family and has been to 23 different countries all over Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the Caribbean. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Anthony Gallo; and his grandmother, Rosalinda Candelaria.  

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, on Whischonier Road in Brookfield, on Friday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m.  

Burial will follow in Central Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Federal Road in Brookfield, on Thursday, Oct. 24, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
