TUCKAHOE, N.Y. An anonymous phone tip led the Tuckahoe Police Department to what might have been a drug deal in progress at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday in the rear parking lot at 100 Columbus Ave.
When police arrived, they reported seeing two men, one inside a car and one outside, Tuckahoe Police Lt. Ray Stabile said. The driver tossed something onto the ground when he saw police, Stabile said. When the police officer picked it up, he found it was cocaine.
The driver was arrested, Stabile said. When he was searched, police found more cocaine and marijuana in his pockets.
Stabile would not release the man's name, the charges or whether there were any additional arrests Wednesday afternoon, because the investigation was continuing.
The Tuckahoe Police Department also reported the following incidents from May 17 to 23:
A Wallace Street man told police Wednesday afternoon he believes mail was taken from his home mailbox. He told police he received a call from a local retailer to let him know that a package addressed to him had been found in a dressing room. The man said he had been expecting the package, but it had not arrived. Police were investigating.
American Bistro on Columbus Avenue told police Tuesday that flowers in its window planter had been pulled up. While police arrived, nearby Salon Navona told police that shop had also lost flowers to vandals.
Hazardous conditions were reported at two locations with minutes during Monday evening's storm. At 7:20 p.m., a tree on county property fell and blocked a resident's driveway in the 180 block of Lake Avenue. Then, at 7:23 p.m. in the 10 block of Bronx Avenue, wires were reported down. Con Edison was called to make repairs.
A Maynard Street resident reported finding two cars damaged on the street at 7:17 p.m. Friday. It appeared the cars had been sideswiped and had heavy damage, Stabile said. Debris from a green vehicle was also found at the scene, he said.
A traffic stop at 12:54 a.m. Friday on Lincoln Avenue led to two arrests and multiple charges against the car's occupants. Stabile said a check of the driver's license showed it was revoked, leading to the car being impounded. An inventory of items in the car turned up marijuana and pills, Stabile said. Police also found a street sign from New Rochelle in the car.
David Ceravino, 18, of Nord Circle, Ossining, was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Ceravino and Sean MacGillivray, 18, of Hunter Drive, Eastchester, were both charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Both were released on $500 bail.
