A new report has revealed that a Hudson Valley city ranks among the most dangerous in the country.

The report was compiled by Neighborhood Scout and considered each city in America that has 25,000 people or more. 

The rankings determined the top 100 most dangerous cities based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Violent crimes include armed robbery, aggravated assault, rape and murder.

The city in the No. 1 spot is Bessemer, Alabama, which has a violent crime rate of 29.8, with a 1 in 34 chance of being a victim.

The Hudson Valley city that made the list was Newburgh, which ranked at number 36. Newburgh’s violent crime rate measured in at 12.7 with a 1 in 79 chance of being a victim.
