Winter Sports: All winter sports in the Eastchester school district will be under way.
Author Reading: 4 p.m. Verlyn Klinkborg, who has written several books and appeared in several high-profile magazines, will speak at Sarah Lawrence College. 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.
“Finding Samuel” Screening: 7 p.m. This documentary chronicles the Habib family’s efforts to include their mentally handicapped son in every facet of their lives. Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.

Afternoon Film: 2 p.m. The film “Saint Rita” will be shown at the Westchester Italian Cultural Center. $10. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.
David Bromwich Presentation: 5 p.m. The Sterling professor of English at Yale University will discuss this year’s presidential election and the future of American foreign policy. Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.
Cooking Demonstration: 6:30 p.m. Sal Cucullo of 808 Bistro will reveal secrets of the “witches” cuisine, incorporating Strega liqueur into each recipe. $50. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.
Merry and Magical Mantelpieces: 7 p.m. Mary Tryforos of Tryforos and Pernice Florist will demonstrate holiday design ideas, and show how to fasten decorations without nail holes, keep evergreens fresh and fashion tight floral arrangements that stay where you want them. $30. Legos in the Library: 4-5 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library welcomes children ages 5 through 10 to build Lego creations that will be displayed until the next program. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.
Library Board of Trustees: 6 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library Board of Trustees will meet in the library auditorium. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.
