CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Voters in the Croton-Harmon school district overwhelmingly approved a $20.8 million bond that the district will spend on capital improvements Tuesday.
The bond was approved 465 votes to 152 votes. The district said the bond will lead to building improvements at three schools, the district office and transportation facility. The bond will not increase taxes because the district is retiring existing debt.
The proposition includes upgrades to heating, ventilation, air condition systems, exterior window/wall replacement at the elementary school, creation of 21st century learning spaces, replacement of the Croton-Harmon High School fire alarm system, additional security measures, renovated parking lots and pathways, upgrading of septic systems and other infrastructural needs, according to the district.
