CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Croton Democrats pulled out a squeaker in the Croton village board elections.

In the race for two at-large seats on the village Board of Trustees, Democrat Brian Pugh and incumbent Ann Gallelli lead with 1,302 votes and 1,092 votes, respectively. Croton United's Virginia Calcutti had 1,023 votes, while Croton United's John Brijeski had 972 votes. Independent Kevin McClone finished in 5th with 158 votes.

In a special election for a village board seat, Democrat incumbent Maria Slippen defeated Bob Anderson of Croton United 1,303 votes to 1,033 votes.

"We believe the results demonstrate that a significant portion of the residents of the village have strong objections to both the policy decisions and the style of governance of the current administration," Roseann Schuyler, a spokeswoman for Croton United, said.

The unofficial results are according to the Westchester County Board of Elections with 100 percent reporting.
