Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Sylvester Jones, 76, of Trumbull, was asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running, police say.

Police made contact with Jones, who was allegedly unable to obey simple commands and answer questions.

Jones was asked and subsequently refused to submit to field sobriety tests, according to police.

  • Illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension
  • Failure to drive upon right

Jones was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on Thursday, Oct. 24.
