Teen Charged In Stabbing Death Of Westchester Man Outside Family's Deli

A teen has been arrested in connecting with the fatal stabbing of a Westchester man his family's Manhattan deli.

Jose Paniagua, 18, was charged Saturday, June 22, with murder, gang assault, and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly stabbing to death 28-year-old Mohamed Nasser Awawdah, of New Rochelle, said the New York City Police Department.

Paniagua allegedly stabbed Awawdah after he asked him and a group of other men to stop loitering in front of the Dyckman Kwik Stop on Wednesday, June, 19.

He turned himself to police after they released a video showing him walking away just after the crime.

During his arraignment on Sunday, June 23, prosecutors said another video also shows Paniagua stabbing Awawdah, said the New York Post.

Awawdah leaves behind a wife who is seven months pregnant. 

Paniagua was ordered held without bail following his arraignment.
