CORTLANDT, N. Y. -- A 26-year-old Peekskill man is facing felony robbery and mischief charges after New York State Police arrested him for stealing an iPhone and injuring the victim and the victim's companion at the Cortlandt Train Station, police said.

Bernard J. Ervin is charged with second-degree robbery, a class C felony and third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony. He's being held at the held at the Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail, police said.

Police were called around 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, to the train station, where the victim told police that the iPhone was forcibly taken. The victim and the victim's companion were both taken to Hudson Valley Hospital for injuries, police said.

Police said they caught up with the man as he was trying to leave the parking area at the train station. The phone was damaged, police said.

He is due to return to the Town of Cortlandt Court at a later date, police said.
