The incident in Putnam County took place around 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, when the unidentified man, driving a white Jeep, collied with the truck as he turned left off Snake Hill Roa in Garrison, said Putnam County Sheriff's Office Capt. Lisa Ortolano.
During the crash, the tractor-trailer flipped, causing the power lines to fall.
Both drivers were airlifted out of the accident scene because emergency responders could not reach the wounded due to the downed power lines, she said.
Ortolano said the deceased man was talking at the scene, but then died later at the hospital. The driver of the truck was listed in stable condition on Wednesday.
The identity of the victim hasn't been released.
