The crash took place around 10:26 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the town of Southeast, when a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Bubacarr Dukureh, 55, of the Bronx, was traveling westbound when he was either stopped or coming to a stop in the lane, and was hit in the rear by a 2019 Dodge Ram van, driven by Christopher J. Saas, 50, of Patterson, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.

Both drivers were transported to Danbury Hospital. Dukureh is currently being treated for serious injuries, and Saas sustained non-life threatening injuries, Hicks said.

The westbound lanes were closed for over an hour due to the collision with traffic moving slowly on the shoulder.

This investigation remains ongoing.
