William George Griff, 70, Of Croton-On-Hudson, Administrative Law Judge

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - William (Bill) George Griff of Croton-on-Hudson died Wednesday, March 27. He was 70.

Griff was born March 18, 1943, in Peekskill and spent his life in Croton. He graduated with a Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 1973 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in history from Fordham College. In 1996, he received a Masters Degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from New York Medical College. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant from 1967-69.

At the time of his death, Griff was working as an administrative law judge for the New York Workers Compensation Board in New York City. Prior to becoming a judge, he worked as a lawyer in White Plains.

Griff is survived by his brother, Martin; sisters, Mary, Carol, Joan and Arlene; many nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Revea Griff.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton.
