Ronald D. Bleakey, 67, Of Verplanck, Navy Veteran, General Foreman

VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Ronald D. Bleakey of Verplanck died June 16. He was 67.

Bleakey was born June 15, 1946, to John and Catherine McCrory Bleakley. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He retired as a general foreman for the Sanitation Dept. at the Town of Cortlandt. He was a life member at the Elks Lodge in Peekskill.

Bleakey is survived by his nieces, Maureen Bleakley (Frank Bottos) and Darlene (Buddy) Scivoletto; nephews, John, Kenneth and Todd Knobel; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Edward, John; and sister, Joan Alberta Knobel.

Calling hours are June 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cortlandt Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Sunset Cemetery in Montrose, New York.
