ELMSFORD, N.Y. – Regina "Jean" Joyce, a former Elmsford resident, died Nov. 15. She was 94.
Born July 8, 1918, in North Tarrytown, Joyce was the daughter of Leon and Loretta Chappelle Quinn. She worked as a teacher in Croton-Harmon public schools as well as other local schools. She was a member of the National Education Association and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.
Joyce lived in Boynton Beach, Fla., for many years before returning to New York.
Her husband, Donald Joyce, died in 1977.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, JoAnn Joyce, of Ossining, and Prudence Joyce, of Newport, N.H.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Donald and Eugene Joyce; a brother, Emmett Quinn; and a sister, Lavina Quinn.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
