CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Cortlandt town officials have been sued for $15 million by a Briarcliff-based company seeking to build a luxury rehabilitation center, according to a report on lohud.com.
The Hudson Ridge Wellness Center, a proposed 92-bed facility, is charging that the town and residents connived to discriminate against people suffering from drug and alcohol dependence by imposing a moratorium on special permits in September, according to lohud. The center sought a waiver, but was turned down, lohud's report said.
The civil rights suit brought in federal court names Cortlandt and members of its Town Board as defendants, the lohud report said.
