CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A swarm of police cars on Tuesday at the Pierre Van Cortlandt School was just a drill. There was not a real emergency.
Officials with the school said the mock lockdown was part of a required series of drills that have to be held throughout the year.
During the drill, an alarm from a classroom was pressed, putting the school on automatic lockdown and triggering a response from the police department.
Once the drill was complete, students were returned to their classrooms.
