Dozens of police units were on scene of an active investigation in the Sullivan County village of Monticello, near the Monticello Housing Authority on Evergreen Drive at 4 p.m., according to numerous witnesses on social media.

Emergency crews were initially called at around 3:15 p.m. for an officer-involved shooting, according to preliminary radio traffic, though Daily Voice has not been able to independently confirm that.

It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or what prompted the police response.
