The film's director, Jenny Mackenzie, is scheduled to appear at the screening for a Q&A session, along with addiction specialists and representatives from several recovery and support programs, according to library staff.

According to the film's website, "Dying in Vein' is a "deeply personal exploration of opiate and heroin addiction ... that drops you directly into the lives of an addict in recovery, a couple trying to get clean, a family grieving the loss of their son and an emergency room physician trying to save one patient at a time."

Produced by Academy Award winning producer Geralyn White Dreyfous, the film also examines the impact of socioeconomic class on "our broken treatment system."

The event is scheduled from 6:30 - 9 p.m. on April 5 at the library's Lovell Room, 2203 Main St., Stratford.
