Pre-Christmas Snow Now Likely: Here's How Much We Should Get

A quick-moving storm system is now expected to bring snow to the area overnight Sunday night into Christmas Eve morning.

Up to 2 inches of accumulation is possible, especially areas north of I-84, with the low-end projected amount around half an inch.

Sunday, Dec. 23 will be partly cloudy with a high around 40 degrees.

The snow chance starts overnight. Light snow becomes likely after 3 a.m.

 The overnight low temperature will be around 30 degrees.

The snow chance continues until late in the morning on Monday, Dec. 24 before the temperature climbs into the low-40s, with rain possible until 1 p.m. Skies will gradually clear and it will become mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Christmas Eve will be clear and cold with a low in the mid- to upper-20s with wind gusts of 20 mph making it feel like it's in the upper teens.

Christmas Day will be sunny with a high around 40.
