NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Six local police departments in Rockland County have had their 911 systems upgraded after years of operating with outdated technology, Rockland County officials announced.
The upgrades cost $1.8 million, and it took more than a year to replace the aging analog system, which was installed in 1993.
Rockland officials said the new system will improve response times and reliability in all towns and villages.
