Man Menaces Victim With Kitchen Knife In Domestic Dispute, Police Say

A man is facing charges after he allegedly menaced a victim with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

Wednesday, Feb. 6 before 9 p.m., New York State Police responded to Pembroke Circle in the town of Wappinger on a report of a physical domestic dispute. Police discovered that 23-year-old Andre C. Evans of Wappinger was engaged in a physical dispute and menaced the victim with a kitchen knife. During the altercation, Evans destroyed a flat screen television and home decor.

Evans was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Third-degree criminal mischief, a Class E felony
  • Second-degree menacing, a Class A misdemeanor
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor
  • Second-degree harassment, a violation

Evans was arraigned before the town of Wappinger Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
