Man Accused Of Grabbing Boy, Touching Girl At Long Island Mall

A man was arrested after police say he grabbed a boy and inappropriately touched a girl at a Long Island mall.

The incidents happened late in the afternoon on Monday, Jan. 20 in Hicksville.

According to Nassau County Police detectives, Hector Castro, 52, of Woodbury, approached a 7-year-old boy at the Broadway Mall and grabbed his leg inappropriately.

The boy's mother confronted Castro after witnessing the incident and he walked away, according to police. 

A short time later, Castro approached an 11-year-old girl and touched her inappropriately, police said. 

Castro fled the scene and was located by responding officers at a nearby location. He was placed under arrest without further incident.

Castro was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at First District Court in Hempstead.
