NEW CITY, N. Y. -- Improperly marked gas lines are being blamed for an accidental gas line break Monday near Burda Lane and Red Hill Road in New City, according to FiOS1 News.
The gas line was hit by Clarkstown Public Works crews doing underground drainage work in the area. It was far enough away from a residential area that officials didn't worry about fumes affecting residents, FiOS News reports.
Drivers were being detoured around the area as crews had to dig up the street and repair the gas line, FiOS1 News reports.
