CSX Track Repairs To Close Rail Crossings In Valley Cottage, Congers

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A pair of local rail crossings will be temporarily closed in the coming weeks to allow CSX Transportation to complete track repairs, according to Clarkstown police.

The first closure is expected from 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the crossing on Kings Highway in Valley Cottage, police said in a brief statement.

A second closure is to occur from 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, on Lake Road in Congers, police said.

The closures will be complete, police said, noting that there will be no vehicular traffic over the rail crossings during the closure periods.
