CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- In an effort to help a fellow Clarkstown resident, the Clarkstown Police department took on the New York Fire Department from Battalion 18 in a hockey on Sunday to raise money for the Avery family, who are going through a medical crisis.
According to the department, more than 100 spectators showed up to offer support for the family at the Palisades Center Ice Rink.
"Our guys played a great game but came up a little short, falling 4-3. Job well done by the whole Clarkstown family," the department posted on Facebook.
