Accidents On PIP, I-87 Cause Stop-And-Go Delays In Rockland

An accident that initially blocked the left lane on the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway caused heavy delays in Rockland on Wednesday morning.

The accident, reported at 8:15 a.m. is at Exit 9 (I-87/I-287) caused backups to Exit 11 (New Hempstead Road).

An accident reported at 8 a.m. on southbound I-87 initially blocked the shoulder at Exit 12 (Route 303).

Traffic was heavy on the southbound thruway through the Tappan Zee Bridge span during the morning commute.
