Former Chappaqua Students Receive Academic Honors

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y.--Sophie Yeres and Gianna Maiorino, graduates of Horace Greeley High School, recently received honors at their respective colleges.

Yeres was named to the Dean’s List for the 2010-2011 academic year at Lake Forest College in Chicago, Ill.

Maiorino, an incoming freshman at Denison University in Granville, Ohio received the Denison Alumni Scholarship.

To be selected to the Dean's List at Lake Forest College, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.60 for two consecutive semesters throughout the academic year.

Maiorino was awarded the Denison Alumni Scholarship, which relieves one-quarter to one-third of the annual tuition at Denison University. The scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership and personal merit.
