Board Of Education Names New Assistant Principal For Roaring Brook School

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Educator Erin Jaynes was appointed to the position of assistant principal at Roaring Brook Elementary School during a special meeting held by the Chappaqua Board of Education on Thursday. The position will be effective July 1.

The district conducted a thorough and comprehensive search and interview process, and Jaynes rose to the top as the strongest candidate, demonstrating all the qualities needed for the position, according to a statement from the board..

Jaynes has been an instructional coach at the ASD Nest Program at P.S. 396 in the New York City Public School System.

Prior to her role as a coach, she worked as a third grade and fourth grade special education teacher for four years at P.S. 396.

During her time as an inclusive co-teacher, Jaynes also served as the fourth-grade team leader, collaborating with administrators, data specialists and teacher leaders to implement school-wide professional development.

Prior to her time at P.S. 396, she worked as a third-grade general education teacher in the Seneca Falls School District.

Jaynes is a graduate of Province College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in elementary and special education.

She received a master of science degree in reading and literacies from the University of Rochester, Warner School of Education.

Jaynes also received her master of science degree in educational leadership from Fordham University.

Her wealth of instructional knowledge and varied experiences as a general education teacher, special education teacher, team leader and instructional coach make her an excellent match for the Roaring Brook School community, according to the Chappaqua Central School District announcement.
