CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Reminiscent of a structure near France's Palace of Versailles, a Chappaqua estate features a beautiful architectural style not often found in modern homes.

The listing 87 Valley Lane is modeled after the hunting lodge of Prince Phillipe Louis Marc in the Parc de Versailles in France. Officially called Pavillon de la Lanterne, this 18th-century building is located near the Palace of Versailles, which has been until recent years, a vacation residence for the French president. The property's seclusion and relative anonymity provided security and tranquility for French political figures and royalty enjoyed for centuries.

Across the Atlantic, the Chappaqua home features many of the same royal details that have made the Pavillion de la Lanterne such a renowned structure in architecture. 87 Valley Lane is privately situated on over three-acres and includes an in-ground pool, tennis court and a second-floor balcony. "When you see this house, you instantly think of an old French castle," said Barry Graziano, listing agent for Houlihan Lawrence. "Even when you walk inside the house, you can feel the relation it has to the hunting lodge. It's a classical style home but residents can enjoy modern amenities."

The 7,600 sq. ft. home includes a family room with a fireplace, hidden marble-topped wet bar and tall windows overlooking the outdoor terrace. In the heart of the house is a family-sized kitchen, recently renovated and featuring chef's quality appliances and multiple work-areas. "While this home looks old, it's actually a fairly new build and has everything needed for modern living," said Graziano. "The home was made for luxurious living"

Much like Pavillion de la Lanterne was built for luxury, 87 Valley Lane was also built for royalty. In addition to the large property, the home has an elevator that leads to every level in the home and opens directly in a three-car heated garage. "This home may not house influential Fench royalty but it certainly has the capability to," said Graziano.
