CHAPPAQUA, N.Y – The New Castle Town Board meeting originally scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Tuesday will pushed back for a 7:30 p.m. executive session to discuss personnel and a 7:45 work sessions to discuss revaluation.
The town board meeting is now slated to begin at 8 p.m.
Although this meeting was initially slated to be the next public hearing for Conifer Realty’s request for a special permit for its Chappaqua Station proposal, the applicants will yet again not be in attendance. Thus, Tuesday night’s public hearing will be for adjournment purposes only and to announce a new date.
This will be Conifer’s third consecutive no show, after postponing its Town Board meeting appearances set for Feb. 12 and March 12.
On Feb. 28, the New Castle Town Board passed a Sense of the Board resolution on the controversial affordable housing proposal.
In the 12-page resolution, the board listed concerns about Conifer’s five-story, 36-unit building called Chappaqua Station for 54 Hunts Place.
A special permit from the Town Board would be needed for the proposal to go forward. The recent resolution figures to make obtaining such a permit that much more difficult for Conifer.
