Julie I. Pilkonis, 91, Chappaqua Resident And Retired Horace Greeley Aide

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — Julie I. Pilkonis, a Chappaqua resident and retired teacher's aide, died Tuesday, March 5. She was 91.

Pilkonis was born on June 9, 1921, to Clement and Sabina Petroska Ziezulewicz. She worked as a teacher's aide at Horace Greeley High School for many years until her retirement in 1995. Prior to that she worked at the Bell School. Pilkonis was a dedicated volunteer for many years at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.

Pilkonis is survived by her son Paul Pilkonis (Elaine); daughters Pamela Pilkonis and Patrice Pilkonis (Robin Lander); one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; sister Leona Stempel; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at The Church of Saint John and Saint Mary in the Little Church at 15 St. John's Place, in Chappaqua. Burial will be at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Pilkonis to Northern Westchester Hospital, Patient-Centered Programs, 400 East Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY 10549.
