Construction on the public parking lot adjacent to Robert Bell Middle School will begin June 13 and is expected to be completed by Labor Day in September.
The lot will be redesigned to add more parking spaces and improve accessibility for customers looking to shop in the area. This is reportedly an attempt to increase traffic flow and make it easier to exit the parking lot.
Lighting will also be installed in a center median in the lot, much like the parking lot at the Chappaqua train station, which is supposed to create a well-lit atmosphere for shoppers during the day and night.
New drainage and sanitary sewage systems will be installed underground while the asphalt is repaved and restriped.
The parking lot is anticipated to have 70 spaces available to customers throughout the course of the construction project, although some areas will be limited.
