NEW CASTLE, N.Y. - With former chairperson Susan Carpenter taking over as town supervisor, the New Castle Planning Board introduced Richard Brownell as her replacement during Tuesday night's meeting at town hall.
"I would like to wish you every success in your new role," Planning Board member Gerrard Curran said to Brownell. "He has all the capabilities and tools and the skill sets to lead this Planning Board through some very tough times ahead."
Brownell, who was already a member of the board, was appointed to the position by Carpenter following her departure. While the chairperson position has been filled, a vacancy still remains on the board. There has been no update or timetable given as to when the town will appoint a fifth member.
